Had another good day on Brighton beach with friends and no disagreements or problems, even with ten children! Jack didn’t want to go in the sea but was happy playing with and collecting stones. I had hoped to find a good sized rock to use as a door stop and one of the children found a chunk of flint a little bigger than my hand, that is now doing the job perfectly. Among all the stones I found a tiny holey stone and brought that home as well. I’ve loved them since I was a child so try to keep an eye out for them. This one I now have on a piece of cord as a necklace 🙂
This week we have mostly been doing things at home and in the garden, though we did have an afternoon Pokemon hunting in town on Friday.
On Tuesday we headed into London to search for some of the Bfg dream jars. We visited Southbank, the Shard, the Tower of London, the Monument and St Pauls Cathedral and took photos of each jar. We had lunch by the river at the Tower Bridge and Jack had fun playing a game to see how fast he could run to certain things and back.
Had a lovely day in Brighton today. Spent a few hours on the beach and in the sea and then headed to the pier for some Pokémon hunting and rides. Saw and caught a few really good Pokémon including Haunter and Aerodacyl and Ponyta and of course brought home some rocks for Jack’s collection!
Next week we are hoping to start on the BFG jar hunt and are going to Pagan Pride in Southampton on Sunday 😀
This week we had a go at a marbling project from Carla Sonheim‘s website. I’m not sure if it was the nail varnish we used or paper but ours didn’t come out as well, or as well as I remember doing marbling with the small cans or oil paint years ago. But still they are interesting and Jack was fascinated by how the nail varnish kinda sucked on to the paper.
Today our butterflies have hatched too! So far nine of the ten are out of their cocoons and flying round. The final one is part way out and wriggles every now and then so I hope it will be okay too.
